The Link scheme is a service offered by members who volunteer to undertake a small
amount of research for other society members. This benefits both those members who
want to research Gloucestershire records but do not live in the County and those
who live here but need information elsewhere.
Could you spare an hour or two at a Record Office or library in your area to help a fellow
member on a reciprocal or expenses only basis? If so, please send details of the Libraries, etc.
you could cover, to the address at the bottom of this article.
(The more who volunteer, the better coverage we have).
When you send in a query to the Link Scheme, you must quote your membership number
(this service is for Members Only),
also a contact telephone number or e-mail address and state precisely the work
required and remember it should take no more than 1-2 hours. (This is not a service to
provide a complete family tree - there are researchers who will do this for a fee)
Enclose two stamped envelopes - one self-addressed and one should be left blank.
(If you live abroad - 2 International Reply Coupons or you may e-mail the address below).
And please do say 'thank you' to your fellow researcher.
Also remember that the Society is only acting as the 'middle man' and cannot enter into
any complicated correspondence with enquiries. We only put you in contact with another
Link member.
